Will my job accept this certification?+

Yes. Our instructors are board certified through the American Heart Association.

When will I receive my credentials?+

You will receive your credentials 3-5 business days after completion of the class. Please ensure that the correct address is on file.

How long is the certification valid?+

Certifications must be renewed every 2 years to ensure you are up to date on the latest CPR practices and procedures.

What's the cancellation policy?+

Cancellations more than 48 hours prior can choose to reschedule or receive a full refund. Cancellations less than 48 hours prior are not eligible for refund — rescheduling only, with a $25 rescheduling fee.

Will I receive proof of purchase?+

Yes! You will receive an email with your invoice and the class details.

How long is the BLS course?+

The BLS Full Course is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes with breaks. The BLS Renewal Course is approximately 4 hours with breaks.

What are the course completion requirements?+

To earn your BLS course completion card, you must: participate in hands-on interactive demonstrations of high-quality CPR skills, pass the Adult CPR and AED Skills Test, pass the Infant CPR Skills Test, and score at least 84% on the written exam.

Who is the BLS course designed for?+

The AHA BLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare professionals and trained first responders who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings, as well as individuals enrolled in healthcare training programs. There are two tracks: in-hospital (anyone who works or volunteers in a hospital setting) and out-of-hospital (anyone who works or volunteers outside of the hospital).

Is the exam open resource?+

Yes. The AHA has adopted an open-resource policy for exams. You may use resources such as the provider manual, notes taken during class, the 2025 Handbook of ECC for Healthcare Providers, and AHA Guidelines posters as reference while completing the exam. However, you may not interact with other students or the instructor during the exam.

Does the course offer continuing education credits?+

Yes. The BLS Full Course offers 4.0 Basic CEHs through CAPCE (Commission on Accreditation of Pre-Hospital Continuing Education). The BLS Renewal Course offers 3.5 Basic CEHs. Activity numbers: Full Course 25-AMHA-F2-0033, Renewal 25-AMHA-F2-0034.

Is there a BLS Renewal Course?+

Yes. If you already hold a current BLS certification, you can take the shorter BLS Renewal Course to recertify. The renewal course is approximately 4 hours with breaks.
